Mr. Dickens and His Carol, by Samantha Silva

Call me a scrooge, but I was never really a fan of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. I have, however, learned to appreciate it since reading Mr. Dickens and His Carol, by Samantha Silva. This historical fiction tale takes us back to Dickens's day and draws us into his world, where we meet his family and the daily pressures of his life as he is forced to write a Christmas novella. Silva has woven fiction with facts that pulled me through the story to the end, entertaining me all along the way. I highly recommend this story if you want a unique Christmas read for this season.
