Neither Wolf Nor Dog: On Forgotten Roads with an Indian Elder, by Kent Nerburn
Kent Nerburn wrote Neither Wolf Nor Dog: On Forgotten Roads with an Indian Elder in 1996. It’s the first in a trilogy of the Lakota culture. Dan, the Lakota elder, summons Kent Nerburn to visit him and help him write a book about his people. The book explains Indian spirituality, which I found fascinating, and the relationship with the white man. Some parts are tough to read, but other parts make you laugh. I enjoyed this book so much that I couldn’t wait to finish the trilogy.
